About

Providing the music for waltzes in the ballroom and swing in the dance halls, orchestras haven't always been limited to the concert hall. Performing in venues more commonly associated with DJs and rock bands, London Breakbeat Orchestra demonstrate that orchestral instruments can be used for far more than classical music. Killer grooves, turntablism and FX plus 30 virtuoso instrumentalists combine to create floor fillers live.

LBO, the 'rave child' of composer Cimeon Ellerton, was first formed in 2005. Cimeon drew on musicians and resources whilst studying at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich and since its conception he has sought to recreate and reinvent the sound of 21st century electronica with particular focus on the genres of breakbeat and drum n bass.

Now the band is formed of approximately 30 young professional jazz and classical musicians, plus vocalist Rosie Strobel, who all have a passion for quality music and the clubbing scene. The result is an orchestra performing live dance music to a professional standard in your favorite clubbing venues.

Cimeon Ellerton, currently studying for a Masters in Composition at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Jac Jones, a professional jazz saxophonist, write all the orchestra's repertoire. By combining their broad knowledge of compositional styles they create music to be appreciated by clubbers and connesieurs alike.
